ONLINE CHURCH BULLETIN

Which Side Has The Most?

Imagine that I give you a piece of paper. And on this piece of paper are two columns. At the top of one column it reads, "Blessings" and at the top of the other it reads, "Problems." Suppose that I told you to fill out both sides. Which side would you start with and which side would have the most?

I believe most people would start with the "Problem" side first because we tend to focus on those negative things. But, in reality, once you start on the "Blessings" side you find that you will have a hard time stopping! Just look around the room at any given time or place and you will find a bountiful list of things for which to be grateful. But let's just start with some very simple things:

    1. God, Jesus, & the Holy Spirit
    2. Family
    3. Friends
    4. The Word of God
    5. Communication in an instant
    6. Good law & justice
    7. Quick, convenient travel
    8. Church
    9. Employment
    10. Home/shelter

    11.  Peace in the U.S.
    12.  A hygienic environment
    13.  Freedom
    14. Health
    15. Electricity
    16. Food
    17.
    18,
    19.
    20.

I know this list could never be exhausted, but when is the last time you slowed down long enough to count your blessings? Why not take the time not only to see these things, but to also, give thanks to the One who has made it all possible?

"Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.- Psalm 100:3-5
