The Miracle Raw

"I would never had believed it if I hadn't seen it!"

Two doctors stood in the hospital hallway. One had just emerged from the delivery room; he removed a green mask from his face. The other had stopped to listen to his friend's story. "What wouldn't you believe? The second doctor asked.

"The baby I just delivered. I've never seen anything like it!"

"Like what?"

"Well," the first doctor said, "I pulled the little guy out. You know, no problem..."

"Cut the umbilical cord..."

"Yeah," the other doctor said, impatience creeping into his voice.

"And then I handed the kid to his father, who set the little tyke down on the floor!"

"He laid a newborn baby on the floor?"

"I didn't say he laid him down. He just set him down...on his feet. And the kid stood there for a few seconds."

"A newborn baby stood up by himself?" The second doctor shook his head and then looked suspiciously at his friend. "Is this a joke?'

"No. I'm serious! He stood right there on that delivery room floor, just like he'd been doing it all his life!"

"Then what happened?"

"You won't believe it! He picked a cotton ball up off the floor, tossed it in the air a couple of times, caught it and then made a mad dash for the trash can!"

"He ran? You must think I'm some kind of a fool."

"No, no, it's true! And when he got to the trash can — which was a bout four times his height — he leaped, twisted his body in the air, extended his arm, and dunked that little piece of cotton in the trash can like it was a basketball!"

"Yeah, yeah. Real funny. What's the punch line?" The second doctor said as he started to walk away. "I'm not playing around!" the first doctor shouted after his departing friend. "I tell you, I saw it with my own eyes. This LeBron James kid is incredible!"

I've heard more talk about LeBron James this past week than I ever cared to hear. Wouldn't it be wonderful if people would talk about Jesus more than they talk about athletes? Or singers? Or actors? Or anybody else for that matter?
