Pray for Our Children

One challenge we face as we pray for our children is: How do we pray for our young people to be within the will of God? A good way to know that what we are praying for in our young peoples lives is the will of God is to pray scripture. God has revealed his will for us through his word, and we can know our prayers are within his will by praying his word for our kids. Below are some scriptures which you may want to pray for your child:

0 Lord, God of our fathers, make _____ always want to obey You, and see to it that his love for you never changes.

Give ____ a good heart toward God, so that he will want to obey you in the smallest detail. I Chronicles 29:18,19

Withhold not your tender mercies from _____ 0 Lord, let your loving kindness and your truth continually preserve. Psalm 40;11

That _____ will follow you, Lord, because he knows your voice. May he never (on any account) follow a stranger, but will run away from him, because he does not know the voice of strangers or recognize their call. John 10:4-5

Lord, keep my _____ from the traps set for him by evildoers. Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while he passes by in safety. Psalm 141: 9,10

Don't let others spoil _____'s faith and joy with their philosophies, their wrong and shallow answers built on men's ideas, instead of on what Christ has said. Colossians 2:8

That _____ would hear the instruction of his father; and reject not or forsake the teaching of his mother. Proverbs 1:8

I ask that you will keep and protect _____ from the evil one. John 17:15

I ask that the worries of the world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desire for other things will not creep in and choke and suffocate the Word in _____'s life. Mark 4:19

0 Lord God of our fathers, make _____ always want to obey you, and see to it that his love for you never changes. Give a good heart toward God, so that he will want to obey you in the smallest detail. I Chronicles 29: 18, 19

That _____ would not be quarrelsome - - fighting and contending, may he be kindly to everyone and mild tempered - - preserving the bond of peace. II Timothy 2:24

Let _____'s light shine before men, that they may see _____'s good deeds and praise his Father in heaven. Matt. 5:16
