BEAT THE WINTER ENERGY BILL
As winter and shorter days approach, the electric and gas bills will be going up. As good stewards, consider these ways to reduce these bills:
On Sunday and Wednesday nights, turn your lights off and your heat down and attend the church assembly. It takes no more electricity (and not nearly so much heat) to accommodate two hundred and fifty people at church than it does for a hundred and fifty people.
On one other night during the week, turn off your lights and go visit someone or do something in the name of Christ for someone.
Turn off the lights and heat in all your rooms except one and get acquainted with that brother or sister you have invited to come for a meal and a visit.
Turn off the television and talk with your family. You might be surprised to find out just what's going on or discover a hidden talent in that family member.
Turn off all your lights except one and spend time reading and studying the Bible, either alone or as a family..
Use your vehicle more effectively by picking someone up who does not attend church anywhere and bringing them to church with you.
Study your Sunday morning lesson on Saturday afternoon so you won't have to stay up. late on Saturday night doing so.
