Arizona Mission Trip

On June 9th, there will be 26 people from here headed to the Navajo Indian Reservation in Tuba City, AZ for a mission effort. Each person going has paid for their airline tickets from their own pockets ($349.70). Next Sunday the elders have set aside that fifth Sunday as a special contribution to help pay for the remaining expenses of the trip. Those costs include money for materials and supplies, food, van rentals & gas as well as lodging. Upon arriving there we will settle in and go buy our groceries for the week. On Sunday we will worship with the brethren there and have a time of orientation. Beginning Monday morning we will be working on various construction projects ranging from building ramps for the handicapped, cutting and splitting firewood, minor repairs, roofing, etc.

One day during the week, the brethren there will be taking our group to the Grand Canyon for a day of sightseeing. On Saturday, June 16th, we will begin the long journey home, arriving back in Nashville at 10:45 that night. There is quite a bit of information on the church's website if you would like to know more. Go to www.tubacitychurchofchrist.com.

Those who are going from Smithville are: Scott Cripps, Tyree Cripps, Macy Felts, Margaret Ferrell, Joe Fuson, Rachel Fuson, Josh Gulley, Kelsey Hedge, Ann Hildreth, Corbin Hildreth, Hayden Hildreth, Dustin Hood, Grant James, Justin Nokes, Joe Ruch, Makalee Ruch, Joannie Williams, Janet Woodward and Tim Woodward. Those going from Keltonburg are: Adam Hale, Deana Hale, Katie Hale, Jackie Norton and Olivia Norton.

I would like to thank each of you in advance for supporting this work. As airline prices continue to climb, we are looking for a small congregation within just a few hours drive of Smithville that we may "adopt" as a sister congregation to encourage and share in the good work together. If you know of such a place please give the information to Casey Midgett or Rob Willingham.

For His Cause,
Tim Woodward
