Nurturing people in the image of God since 1868.                                                                          POB 397/520 Dry Creek Rd./Smithville, TN

I have seen over the years may people in the church who claim to suffer from the same disease Moses had in Exodus 4:10. God had been speaking to Moses about His desire for Moses to go to Egypt and deliver the Israelites from bondage. Well, one excuse leads to another until Moses says, "O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before or since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue. " What Moses probably meant was, "I can 't talk to somebody about becoming a Christian. I would be too nervous. " Or, "I wouldn't  feel comfortable teaching a Bible class. " Or, "Why don 't you get Brother So-and-So to do it? He does a much better job than I do. " Or, "I don 't want to offend anybody by forcing my beliefs on them. "

These same people are some of the ones I've heard out campaigning for their favorite presidential candidate, but, yet their enthusiasm is dampened when it comes to promoting Jesus and His "platform". What is it that causes us to become so compassionate about a political campaign but so passive during a spiritual campaign? We put stickers on our automobiles, give our money to support our candidate, talk to others enthusiastically about what we believe the issues are, but won't put a license plate or sticker promoting the church on our vehicles, gripe and complain about the church always wanting money, and never discuss the "issues".

Have we lost sight of what we're supposed to be about? Are we like the apostles, who were more concerned about an earthly kingdom? Listen, there are people out there who have decided to vote for the devil and are campaigning as furiously as they can to promote him and his agenda. It is our responsibility to get the truth out to the people. How do we do that? We talk about our candidate, Jesus Christ, everywhere we go. We promote his platform of love and kindness and treating people fairly wherever we go. We make sure that the needs of those around us are met.  Election Day for the Christian and the rest of the world is soon approaching! Who are you going to vote for?

For His Cause,
